OK we all know that we live in Spain so we should speak and read the language, BUT that's in an ideal world. I am sure i speak for a vast majority that even after being here years we only have the basic grasp of the native language.
In our experiance operating a computer in a foreran language can be a nightmare, even for people who do have a good understanding of the Spanish language, error messages and information pop-up's and notoriously difficult to translate into meaningful English. So what can be done?.
A, Most of the time there is only one choice, reinstallation of Windows, There are some unofficial software applications out there on the internet that claim to change the language without the need to reinstall, but in our experience they simple do not work and can cause more harm than good. We have had numerious computer brought in to us where some cowboy computer person has cut corners and used one of these applications and of course when it fails they do not want to know or they simply are not here anymore.
At ThePCShop our solution to a language change is the only true solution and that is to back up your personal files, format your system and perform a new installation of Windows in the language of your choice.
Once the installation is complete we perform ALL required updates including making sure all system drivers required for your computer are installed and up to date. Then when we are confident the Windows installation is complete we restore all your data to a central location,

Q, How Long Does it take?
A, Depending on
the amount of files we have to back up we normally require the
computer for a day.
Q, Can you guarentee that all my files will be saved?
A, In a perfect world we would say yes,
but thats a long way off all we will prommise is that we wil do our
best.
Q, Over time i have made several changes to my system, for example
setting up email, installing printers, connecting the WIFI, will all
this be done for me in the fixed price task.
A, Put simple NO, as you can appriciate there is only so much we can do based on this fixed charge, we can however undertake additional tasks but these will be charged in addition to the fixed price quoted.
Q, What should I do BEFORE I have the language changed?
A, Before
having the language changed, there are seveal things you need to
check, make sure you know your WIFI key (if you are connecing to your
router wirelessly of course), have your printer
installation disk, and most importantly make sure you have backed up
your files.
